Mark Driscoll’s New Book Invites Christians to “Find God Through Blind Rage”

Celebrity preacher Mark Driscoll has released a new book about using anger to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit.

The fiery-tempered pastor of Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona insists that be holy one must be mad. In this paradigm, belligerence and fury are earmarks of a Spirit-filled life. One need only look at Driscoll’s anger-fueled rants on YouTube to know that he practices what he preaches.

“Jesus ran through the temple courts with a whip, flipping over the tables of the money changers and calling down curses,” reads an excerpt from Driscoll’s book. “I do the same thing every time I go into Wal-Mart. And I’ve never felt closer to God.” Anger, of course, isn’t the goal in and of itself. It’s a tool to draw closer to God. “He’s [God’s] way up there in heaven,” Alec Baldwin explains in the forward to the book. “If you want Him to hear you, you’re going to have to yell.”

Anger Filled Jesus is available in hardcover and eBook. An audiobook, screamed by the author himself, is also available.
